Here is a list of the fallowing award winners from this weekend in Calgary.
 
Male Junior Elite Triathlete of the Year - Kris Loshack
1st place in Jr. Elite Provincials, 1st Albertan at Jr. National Elite Championships.
 
Male Age Group Duathlete - Jeff Shmorkoff
Edmonton ITU Olympic Tri 13th,  GWN 1/2 Ironman 16th, St Albert Sprint Tri 1st, Summerside Sprint Tri 1st,  Wasaga Beach, Ontario Sprint Tri 2nd.
 
Male Elite Duathlete of the Year - Grant Burwash
2007 Canadian Duathlon National Champion and Pan American Duathlon Championships Silver medalist, Canadian Elite National Championships and Pan Am Cup, August 5- 17th, 13th Canadian, 6th U23 (1:53:18), Kelowna ITU Pan Am Cup Triathlon August 19-14th, 3rd in U23 (1:53:59), Colorado ITU Pan Am Cup Triathlon August 11- 28th (1:58:35) got heat stroke and was the only Canadian to finish.

Male Age Group Triathlete - Darin Hunter
IMC August 2007- 9:51.18 38th place overall, 5th in my age group,  Half Ironman Triathlon; Chinook June 2007- 4:43.13 2nd overall, 1st in age group,  Sprint Triathlon; Mount Royal April 2007- 56:18 2nd overall, 1st in age group.

Male Long Distance - Luke WAY
Being his first year as an Elite, Luke has finished 2nd at the National long course Championships. Luke just got back from the national off road championships and finished an impressive 3rd against some of the fastest men in the world. Luke also is a great ambassador of the sport as he volunteers for many local races and helps coach athletes in Calgary.

Male Elite Triathlete of the Year - Paul Tichelaar
1st Can. Sr Elite Tri Champs,  5th Van. World Cup,  7th Edm. World Cup,  1st Kelowna Pan Am Cup,  24th World Tri. Champs.
Male AWAD Triathlete of the Year – Peter Lawson
 Edmonton Triathlon on June 24th he received a gold medal. By doing so, Peter had qualified to compete in Hamburg Germany  (received 2nd in his age group) and then in Vancouver next June.

Youth & Kids of Steel Athlete of the Year – Male - Jordan Arthur
 Jordan has been a triathlete for 4 years He competed in 5 events this year achieving the following results:  4th in Calgary, 2nd in Vegreville,  2nd in St. Albert, 1st in Summerside, and 8th in Kelowna. He promoted the sport by doing a special project at school that highlighted the importance of triathlon to his family.

Female Long Distance - Rosemarie Gerspacher
Second female at the New Balance Half Ironman, second female at the Desert Half Ironman (Canadian Long Course National Championships) and finally first female age grouper at Ironman Canada, 7th overall including the professionals.

Female Age Group Triathlete - Lynsdey Clapperton
 National Age Group Champ overall two at worlds in 40-44 other then that never lost her age group this year.

Female AWAD Triathlete – Kim Wedgerfield
Edmonton Triathlon on June 24th he received a gold medal. By doing so, Kim had qualified to compete in Hamburg Germany  (received 2nd in her age group) and then in Vancouver next June.

Female Elite Triathlete of the Year - Chantell Widney
11th Nat'l Tri. Champs - 1st Albertan 6th Kelowna Pan Am Cup - 3rd Can., 1st AB 1st Prov. Champs.

Female Junior  Elite Triathlete of the Year - Paula Findlay
 6th World Jr Tri. Champs - 1st Canadian 1st Jr Pan Am Champs. 2nd Jr Nat'l Champs - 1st AB 1st Van. Tri 1st Prov. Jr Champs.

Youth & Kids of Steel Athlete of the Year – Female - Paris Sackley
Paris posted the most consistent performance of any Kids of Steel participant this year. Paris raced at 7 Kids of Steel events this year - winning 4 times and placing 2nd, 3 times, reaching the podium in every race she attended. Highlights of her year - the Western Canadian Championships in Kelowna  Paris won the event, beating all 35 competitors .   Paris also attended the Pacific Northwest USAT Regional Qualifier in Spokane, Washington beating the best 9-10 year olds at this event. This earned her an invitation to the US National Triathlon Championships in Wisconsin.

Coach of the Year – Cal Zaryski
Coached 32 athletes to race Ironman Canada this year.

These are the highlighted athletes that were coached.  This season Cal had 54 triathletes racing all categories of triathlons: Sprint, Olympic, Off Road, Half Ironman and Ironman.
