2010 Alberta Race KOS Series - Cancelled

The KOS Point Series will be postponed this year to format new guidelines and system of awarding points for 2011.

Eligibility

This Series is open to ATA youth registered in the 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15 and 16-19 year old age groups.  To facilitate tracking of points, this series is only open to ATA members.

Awarding Points

Final results as determined by the race directors for each race shall determine the points awarded.  Accuracy of results will be the responsibility of the race directors.

Appeals:  Given the nature of this series (encouragement of involvement in the sport), there will be no appeal process.

Points System

Points shall be awarded on the following basis.  Two-thirds of the points are awarded for finishing the events, while the additional one-third are awarded for top finishers in events.

                Second                14

                Third                    13

                Fourth                  12

                Fifth                     11

                All other finishers 10

                DNS/DNF            0

In order to encourage participation in all races, all races will utilize the same points system (no additional points are awarded for larger races, etc.) 

The overall male and female points champions (highest total in any age group) will be honoured with the Youth Awards of Excellence held at the ATA Annual General Meeting.
