2017 Alberta U19 Super Series
In 2017, Alberta Triathlon has designated 5 events to kick start the inaugural Alberta U19 Super Series. The underlying foundation of the Series is to produce athletes capable of not only competing at major national and international, but placing well in their competitive field.
Because National, Continental and International triathlons are all draft-legal events, Alberta’s U19 Super Series, also draft legal, provides young athletes with an opportunity to develop critical racing skills in a safe and local environment without having to incur great expense by travelling across the country.
Alberta Triathlon has worked collaboratively with local race directors to ensure the age-appropriate distances remain consistent with the national Kids of Steel program while still offering a higher level of competition.
All athletes entering these races must possess a valid Draft Legal Certification Card from Alberta Triathlon. Please also note that disk brakes and aero bars are considered illegal equipment for any draft-legal race in Alberta.
These races will be used to help selection athletes for the 2018 Youth and Junior Development Program and a points standing will be developed and published in the coming weeks.
