International Competition Card
Triathlon Canada International Competition Cards are available from Triathlon Canada to those triathletes and duathletes who have demonstrated proficiency in elite or open competition, at a national or international standard, but are not a current member of the National Team or National Development Team.
The standard for a Triathlon Canada International Competition Card is normally based on performances at the Canadian National Championship, ITU International competitions and other high caliber events from the prior year. Standards will be reviewed annually and cards will be issued for the year January 1st to December 31st. The cost for 2007 is $55.
Triathlon Canada International Competition Card holders are not members of any national team and as such do not enjoy the benefits of national team members.
Applications for a Triathlon Canada International Competition Card are available from the national office of Triathlon Canada . Alternatively forms are available for download from this site and returned by FAX, email or regular mail.
2007 Triathlon Canada International Competition Card Standards
Triathlon International Competition Card
- Named to the 2006 National Elite Team or the 2006 National Development Team, or
- Top 15 placing (elite category) at the 2006 Canadian Triathlon Championships, or
- A placing of 1st-3rd overall or 1st-3rd in the U23 category at the 2006 National Junior Championships, or
- Top 50 placing (elite category) at the 2006 Triathlon World Championships in the elite wave, or
- Top 15 placing at the 2006 Triathlon World Championships in the U23, 20-24 or 25-29 age group, or
- Completed an international event which Triathlon Canada deems adequate to receive a card (results required ).
Long Distance Triathlon International Competition Card
- Completed an IRONMAN distance event in under 10:00 (men) or 10:45 (women) since Jan. 1, 2006 or
- Completed a half-IRONMAN event in under 4:20 (men) or 4:45 (women) since Jan 1. 2006, or
- Completed another long distance event (i.e.: 2006 Long Distance Triathlon World Championship) with a result that Triathlon Canada deems adequate to receive an international card ( results required ).
Duathlon International Competition Card
- Top 10 overall placing at the 2006 Canadian Duathlon Championships, or
- Top 30 overall placing at the 2006 Duathlon World Championships in the elite category, or
- A placing of 1st-3rd overall at the 2006 Canadian Duathlon Championships in the U23 Category, or
- A top 10 placing at the 2006 Duathlon World Championships in the U23, 20-24 or 25-29 age group, or
- Completed an international event which Triathlon Canada deems adequate ( please provide results ).
Winter Triathlon International Competition Card
Completed an international event which Triathlon Canada deems adequate ( please provide results ).
