Hayley has been active in sports throughout her life. Competitive swimming had led her to try a couple Triathlons a year for the last while. Over the years her passion grew for Triathlon and she recently decided to take a step back from Hockey and Competitive swimming and focus specifically on Triathlon training. Hayley trains with the Edmonton Triathlon Academy. This will be her first year on the Alberta Junior Team and is excited to travel to the races out east for the National Junior Series. Hayley’s favorite race from 2015 was the Apple Triathlon in Kelowna.
A medalist at past Canada Summer Games and winner of the men's sprint at Western Canada Summer Games, Cooper is currently balancing triathlon training with university studies. He is racing in his fourth and final year of Junior competition. He will be looking to compete at Junior Worlds in Cozumel, as well as having a podium finish at the Canadian Junior National Championship.
Kyle Buckley has been in the sport of triathlon for 5 years now. He likes all parts of the sport. He loves to go out for long bike rides with his friends. Kyle is in his 3rd year of junior elite and hopes to improve his performance from last season. In his spare time Kyle likes to watch movies, listen to music, and play guitar.
Stefan started participating in triathlons recreationally at the age of 10 and began competing at the age of 16. His favourite aspect of triathlon is the run, as he loves competing in track and cross country throughout the year. His favourite races have been the 2013 and 2014 Paratriathlon World Championships in London and Edmonton. Competing in Europe was a great experience for Stefan, but competing on home soil was even more special to him. In his spare time, he enjoys going out with friends or kicking back to watch Netflix.
Luke has been training with the Edmonton Triathlon Academy for 2 years. In 2014, he was able to race in Magog, Quebec in the National Championship race for his age group. This year, Luke is looking forward to racing in the National Junior Series. He loves traveling to other provinces with his friends to race.
Olivia is entering her third year of triathlon after seven years of playing competitive soccer. She enjoys the training atmosphere at the Talisman Triathlon Club and considers the Arizona training camp her favourite triathlon experience of 2014. She enjoys spending her spare time with friends and family.
Shae has been competing in triathlon since he was 5 years old. Shae joined the Edmonton Triathlon Academy in the summer of 2013 and under the guidance of head coach Kevin Clark, has been drastically improving ever since. In his spare time Shae enjoys camping, quadding, and he is also a hockey referee.
For a large part of her life, Laurin was a swimmer and a track runner until making the transition into triathlon. She started focusing on triathlon 3 years ago. Her favourite event to compete in is the Kelowna Apple Triathlon.
Emily is from Calgary and her favourite race in 2015 was Chicago. She enjoys traveling to new places for races and her favorite food is ice cream!
